Post-oncological implant rehabilitation in a 21-year old patient with a successful subtotal mandibuloectomy & fibula-graft, 2 years follow-up.
A complex case, requiring multidisciplinary treatment, including orthodontic treatment of the maxilla, TMJ adjustment to remove block, digital implant & prosthetic planning & mucogingival surgery.
The skeletal post-reconstructive proposition of the patient in relation to the occlusion presented a prosthetic challenge, specifically for implant planning & restoration choice.
Due to the young age of the patient we decided to go for a non-removable screw retained hybrid Zirconia + Ti-bar restoration with a hygienic zone and custom 7mm straight MUAs rather than an overdenture.
Overall, the patient is satisfied with the functional and aesthetic outcome and so is our team.
