THE ACCURACY ASSESSMENT OF AN ACTUAL AND PLANNED IMPLANT TREATMENT IN IMPLASTATION

To perform checking the accuracy of actual and planned implant treatment in Implastation let’s study some case. Implants were planned to be placed in positions 46, 47. Dimensions of implants 3.5 * 10. The apical part is located in the immediate vicinity of the mandibular canal.

Diagnostic CT was performed with an X-ray contrast guide made of a silicone impression.

Drilling was carried out by using ProDigiDent Mistral 2 – a universal kit for guided surgery.

The control CT scan was performed without a diagnostic impression.

To check the accuracy of the implant placement, an optical scan of the diagnostic impression with virtual implant models attached to it was exported from the planning project.

Then, the STL file of the combined optical scan with implants is combined with a diagnostic CT scan.

As a result, it became possible to check the coincidence of the planned and actual positions of the implants visually.

The result of the matching: the accuracy is sufficient for the implementation of the planned implant treatment, as well as to prevent treatment errors.

The measurement error in this case depends on the accuracy of STL and CT alignment, performed twice, the play of the assumed concepts of the surgical kit.
