“4-D Surgical Patient” concept

By Dr. Maxym Prytula

“The rise and availability of modern digital technology has enabled a better approach to Full-arch rehabilitations thus leading to creation of a concept we call the «4-D Surgical Patient».

Our philosophy now is to pre-plan the restorative prognosis before the surgery which in turn allows for a more predictable surgical procedure and final outcome.

The basis of the modern concept lies in the amount of functional and visual data that a doctor can gather for the dental technician and with the combination of AI-assisted Bone Segmentation , Intraoral and Facial Scanning, functional diagnostics and aesthetic diagnostics the DT is able to visualise all the necessary layers of both hard and soft tissues enabling for a better result while performing a digital wax-up, which in turn greatly impacts the choice of implant configurations and surgical steps needed to achieve an optimal result.

With the availability of guided surgery it is possible to perform the planned surgery with a minimal implant deviation and with the introduction of photogrammetry technology we are now able to precisely relay the implant position to the DT allowing him to design and manufacture a high quality passively fitting restoration in the pre-planned position of the wax-up.

All this leads to a predictable result , minimising the risk of both surgical and restorative complications and maximising the efficiency of the practice. And the best part is that any case can be done this way, no matter the difficulty. The future is truly now.”
